Gestalt Effect
With two decades of DJing on the Dutch house and techno scene and internationally, Gestalt Effect has established firm ground for his typically forever-evolving style. He brings diversity, warmth and depth to the dance floor with his expertise and is always guaranteed to get crowds moving with a grooving blend of house and techno.
Tom’s passion for the scene began at his first house party back in 1990. Overwhelmed by tracks like The Age of Love, D-Shake’s Yaaah and Acid Rock he fell in love and got well and truly hooked on the music. His love grew steadily and in 1996 he started DJing. It was clear from the outset that he had a natural talent. Local residencies followed and soon after, he was playing at Amsterdam’s Mazzo, Paradiso and Supperclub. A short time later he found himself playing gigs in France and Spain.
About 2 years ago, Tom decided to take his music career to a professional level and adopted his new name – Gestalt Effect. Confident that he had the ability to produce good music, he invested in a home studio and started producing. His first release, The Cascades of Tears EP on Estroe’s Rosedale Records was well received by Joris Voorn, Secret Cinema, Hernan Cattaneo and more..
His focus for the coming year lies on releasing new music, doing more remixes to increase exposure as both a DJ and producer. And currently he has one remix being released on Compulsive Movement Records.
So far his tracks and remixes released on Compulsive Movement Records are:
